A few things to know.
What do I need to use HexaNect?
A modern web browser, a 3D printer and suitable board material. The builder generates STL connector files and a manufacturing guide for your specific design.
Do I need to install OpenSCAD?
No. HexaNect uses OpenSCAD WebAssembly directly in your browser. Connector generation happens locally on your computer.
Why is connector fit adjustable?
HexaNect currently uses friction-fit connections. Real board thickness and 3D-printer calibration vary, so the correct fit may differ slightly between materials and printers. Print a test connector before producing a full batch.
Is HexaNect finished?
This is a public beta. The core builder and connector generator are working, while community features and additional tools are still being developed.
Can I use HexaNect for load-bearing or safety-critical structures?
HexaNect is intended for experimental furniture and maker projects. Material quality, print strength, assembly, loading and stability vary. You are responsible for evaluating whether your finished structure is appropriate and safe for its intended use.
